shomi to Launch Nationally in Summer

  • Following a successful beta launch in November 2024 to Rogers and Shaw Internet or cable customers, shomi is now coming to all Canadians across the country this summer  including exclusive series not available on other streaming services, celebrated Canadian content, human-curated collections, plus fun kids and family programming.  shomi is accessible on the platforms Canadians want – tablet, mobile, online, Xbox 360, Apple TV, Chromecast, as well as set-top boxes for Rogers and Shaw TV subscribers; the service is also on offer to other distributors. shomi’s got the first month covered for new subscribers. shomi has teamed up with Twitter so followers will be the first to know when shomi is ready to move in. 

    “The beta has been a huge success and we’re excited to now bring it to all Canadians. We’ve taken the time to work out the kinks so members can enjoy a great user interface and viewing experience,” said David Asch, Senior Vice President and General Manager, shomi. “We know more Canadians want the experience of an epic entertainment binge, and that they want the freedom to choose how they access the service. This exciting next step gives them that opportunity and we’re excited to share shomi with everyone.”

    shomi has exclusive content deals for some of the most buzz-worthy  TV series being produced today. When we move in this summer, we’re bringing  Canadian exclusives such as Golden Globe-winner Transparent, Mozart in the Jungle, and Catastrophe; exclusive day-and-date releases of hot new series including iZombie and multiple award-winning Jane The Virgin; top-notch Canadian content including Vikings, Rookie Blue, and Mr. D; and past-seasons of some of the most popular shows on television, featuring Modern Family and Sons of Anarchy – these are just a few of the series that call shomi home.
