CTV Unveils Coverage of 88th. Annual Academy Awards

  • The Oscars – the most-anticipated night in Hollywood  – returns Sunday, March 2  on CTV and CTV GO. For more than a decade, CTV has been the only Canadian network broadcasting live from the Oscar red carpet – giving viewers exclusive access behind the velvet rope with ETALK At the Oscars.  The red carpet special also simulcasts on M3. New this year, Canada’s entertainment series ETALK gets viewers Oscar-ready by delivering two new specials leading up to Hollywood’s biggest night.

     Red Carpet Ready  10 Years of ETALK At the Oscars – New Special

    Monday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. on CTV and CTV GO

    The road to The Oscars begins as ETALK celebrates a decade on the red carpet. The half-hour special looks back at ETALK’s favourite and most memorable moments covering The Academy Awards, including game-changing red carpet questions – like when Jennifer Lawrence’s mother exclusively revealed to Ben Mulroney that she was reading The Hunger Games, before Lawrence was announced to play the role of Katniss Everdeen in the successful film franchise. Hosted by Ben Mulroney, Tanya Kim, Lainey, and ETALK executive producer Morley Nirenberg, the special also examines the program’s best and worst red carpet moments, behind-the-scenes secrets, and best red carpet looks from the past decade. Red Carpet Ready: 10 Years of ETALK At the Oscars will be available on demand following the broadcast at CTV.ca and the CTV GO app.

    ETALK’S Ulitmate Oscar Guide – New Special

    Saturday, March 1 at 7 p.m. on CTV and CTV GO

    ETALK presents a full hour of Oscar fun facts and celebrity scoop to help viewers win their Oscar pool with ETALK’S Ulitmate Oscar Guide. The new, one-hour special features trivia, a review of this year’s nominations and predictions, award season fashion roundups and red carpet predictions, and everything viewers need to know from the entire ETALK team.  Will be available on demand following the broadcast at CTV.ca and the CTV GO app.

    ETALK At the Oscars – Red Carpet Special

    Sunday, March 2 at 6 p.m. ET on CTV Two and CTV GO

    On Oscar night, CTV’s red carpet special ETALK At the Oscars offers two sought-after positions on the red carpet, including the exclusive balcony position, capturing all the red carpet arrivals from a bird’s eye view. ETALK anchor Ben Mulroney delivers celebrity interviews from the red carpet, while ETALK and The Social’s Lainey Lui and E!’s Leah Miller are positioned on the balcony, delivering a first-hand look on all the fashions that night. Red carpet coverage begins on CTV Two Ontario at 6 p.m. ET, CTV Two Atlantic at 7 p.m. AT, CTV Vancouver at 3 p.m. PT, and CTV Alberta at 4 p.m. MT. The red carpet special also simulcasts on M3 at 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT and wil also be available on demand following the broadcast at CTV.ca and the CTV GO app. Red carpet coverage continues with Oscars Red Carpet Live! at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT on CTV.

    Weekdays at 10 a.m. ET on CTV and CTV GO

    Host Marilyn Denis and fashion stylist Peter Papapetrou show viewers how to get the looks inspired by this year’s Oscar nominees’ street-style fashion (Feb. 28). Then, famed fashion director and TV personality Randy Fenoli and The Social co-host and ETALK reporter Traci Melchor joins join Papapetrou for a full recap of the previous night’s highlights (Mar. 3).

    Weekdays at 1 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO

    Co-hosted by Melissa Grelo, Cynthia Loyst, Lainey Lui, and Traci Melchor, the ladies of The Social test their knowledge of Oscar history and this year’s nominees in an ultimate Oscar trivia showdown (Feb. 25). Then, the ladies share their guide to hosting a chic Oscar viewing party (Feb. 27) and recap all the award-show highlights and fashion hits and misses following the Oscars (Mar. 3). Lainey also appears live from L.A. via satellite (Feb. 27, 28, and Mar. 3) to give viewers insider gossip on Hollywood’s biggest event.

    Weeknights at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO

    The ETALK team, including Ben Mulroney, Tanya Kim, Lainey, Danielle McGimsie, and Jessi Cruickshank, report on location from outside the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, bringing viewers pre-award show highlights as well as behind-the-scenes coverage as crews continuously setup for Hollywood’s biggest night (Feb. 28). Then on one of ETALK’s most-watched broadcasts of the year (Mar. 3), the team provides viewers with exclusive coverage of the most buzzed-about Oscar after parties, backstage moments, and exclusive red carpet highlights not seen during Sunday night’s live broadcast. Danielle McGimsie also brings viewers party highlights from Elton John’s annual post-Oscar bash.
