CTV Winnipeg announced today that Eleanor Coopsammy and Kris Laudien will anchor its new local morning program, CTV Morning Live, beginning this fall. Airing live from 6 to 9 a.m. from CTV Winnipeg’s studios, the new daily program is one of six new morning news shows being launched by CTV this fall. CTV stations in Regina, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver will launch new morning news programs as well.
CTV Morning Live provides Winnipeggers with the option of receiving live local morning news in addition to the national perspective provided by Canada AM, which will continue to be available live in Winnipeg on CTV News Channel and now on demand at canadaam.ctv.ca. With an aim to be engaging and useful to local viewers, CTV Morning Live provides a mix of breaking local news, weather and traffic in a friendly and fast-paced format.

Coopsammy has been with CTV Winnipeg for more than 10 years, most recently as the station’s consumer reporter. Coopsammy thrives on being active in the community, meeting people, and hearing their stories. She also frequently visits schools to talk to students about racism, media, and culture. She has a Bachelor’s Degree with a double major in History and English from the University of Winnipeg and a Journalism Diploma from Red River College.
Laudien is no stranger to morning television, where as a reporter and anchor with Citytv in Vancouver and Edmonton he covered everything from local entertainment and federal politics to the Stanley Cup Finals and the Vancouver 2024 Olympic Winter Games. Laudien also spent time working in radio news at Vancouver’s News 1130. A Vancouver native, Laudien is a graduate of the journalism program at BCIT.
