CTV Regina Recognized for Excellence at RTDNA Prairie Region

  • CTV Regina was recognized for excellence in electronic journalism in the Prairie Region by the Radio Television Digital News Association Canada. Among the awards received, CTV Regina was honoured with the distinguished Trina McQueen Award – Television News Information Program for Indigenous Circle, CTV Regina’s weekly First Nations and Aboriginal current affairs program produced by resident reporter and video journalist Creeson Agecoutay.

    In addition, the station was awarded the Sports Award – Medium Market for “Gabby – Meeting a Hero”. Produced by Sports Director Lee Jones, this report follows the story of local Cerebral Palsy sufferer Gabby Wuschke and her journey to meet her sports hero, Canadian curler and Olympic gold medalist Jennifer Jones.

    “This acknowledgment by the RTDNA speaks to the dedication and journalistic excellence of our news team,” said David Fisher, Vice-President and General Manager, CTV Saskatchewan.

    “We are honoured and humbled to be recognized by our peers,” said J.C. Garden, Director of News and Public Affairs, Regina and Southern Saskatchewan. “Both awards underscore our commitment to telling local stories that matter to the people of Saskatchewan.”
