  • Five distinguished digital media experts met in Toronto on November 23 and 24,  2016 to evaluate innovative digital media projects that were submitted for funding support as part of the Canada Media Fund’s Experimental Stream, Commercial Projects Pilot Program.

The jury is composed of Canadian and international industry specialists including: Nuno Bernardo (Lisbon), Francis Ingrand (Paris), Gavin McGarry (Los Angeles), Sébastien Provencher (Montréal), and Michael Tippett (Vancouver).

Jury members have complementary skill sets including entrepreneurship, independent production (digital media, film, and television), and marketing.

The jury provides an external perspective on commercial potential and assesses projects based on their possible commercial success. The program’s goal is to support Canadian interactive, innovative and leading-edge digital media content and software applications which have an increased focus on potential commercial success.

In the coming months, the CMF will announce the projects that will receive funding support through this program.

The Experimental Stream supports Canadian interactive digital media content and application software that is innovative and leading edge including console and casual games, interactive web series and apps, as well as enabling technologies.
