Grass Valley Chosen by BendBroadband to Help Deliver All-Digital Video

    Thomson announced today that BendBroadband has selected the Grass Valley� ViBE suite of products to support its transition to an all-digital network. The leading cable and broadband company serving Central Oregon, has chosen Grass Valley for its exceptional video quality and high-density architecture to support the company�s growing subscription base for revenue-generating applications and services.

    The agreement marks a significant investment by BendBroadband to aggressively re-purpose bandwidth using Grass Valley�s breakthrough technology and signals a growing trend among cable operators to offer all-digital video programming to customers.

    While BendBroadband video customers will immediately notice enhanced viewing quality, the transition to an all-digital network using ViBE encoders will also enable BendBroadband to recover bandwidth to support the introduction of more advanced services.
