Rogers Media announced today the appointment of Nataline Rodrigues as Director of Original Programming, effective October 1.

Reporting to Hayden Mindell, Vice President of Programming & Content, Broadcast, Rodrigues will manage the submission, development, and production of original Canadian programming for all Rogers Media non-sports television brands.

“As Rogers Media continues to expand its successful roster of original programming, we are excited to bring aboard Nataline to further strengthen our diverse portfolio,” said Mindell. “Nataline’s breadth of knowledge and experience across all facets of the Canadian television landscape will ensure our legacy of quality original content continues to prosper and evolve across all platforms.”

In addition to working closely with the independent community to accept and evaluate pitches and proposals for both development and production, Rodrigues will oversee the current slate of Rogers Media original series including Package Deal, Seed, Storage Wars Canada, The Project: Guatemala, Mother Up!,  and The Bachelor Canada.

Multi-award winning Rodrigues brings more than 15 years of experience in scripted and factual production to her role at Rogers Media. Most recently, Rodrigues held the position of Executive in Charge of Production at CBC, where she managed the development and production of dramatic and comedic programs. During her time at CBC, Rodrigues oversaw some of the network’s most successful and critically acclaimed series including Arctic Air – the network’s highest rated premiere in the last 20 years.

Prior to her role at the CBC, Rodrigues worked as an Executive in Charge of Production for Canwest  and Alliance Atlantis, where she was responsible for the development and production of original series for Life Network, Slice, Food Network, National Geographic Channel, TVtropolis, and Global. Rodrigues played a key role launching the newly reinvented Slice channel while being instrumental in creating factual series such as the Gemini award-winning ‘Til Debt Do Us Part and the internationally successful Rich Bride, Poor Bride.

Before joining the private broadcaster, Rodrigues worked in the independent sector as a producer, director, and writer in addition to developing factual and dramatic programming.  Her production credits include:  producer, director and co-writer on Going to the Dogs, an irreverent series about the dog show industry; co-producer on the Emmy® nominated high definition special, Planet Storm; and producer on the award-winning documentary, A Deathly Silence, chronicling a mother's struggle to find her son's killers and bring them to justice.

Rogers Broadcasting has 53 AM and FM radio stations across Canada; television properties include seven City stations, five OMNI multicultural television stations, Sportsnet (consisting of four regional channels and the nationally-distributed Sportsnet ONE, Sportsnet World, and Sportsnet 360), and The Shopping Channel, a televised and internet shopping service.
