The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television is pleased to announce this year’s winners of the 32nd Annual Genie Awards, which were broadcast on CBC.

Philippe Falardeau's Monsieur Lazhar won six trophies including Best Motion Picture (Luc Déry, Kim McCraw) as well as best Achievement in Direction and best Adapted Screenplay (Philippe Falardeau).

A Dangerous Method garnered five coveted Genie Awards at the star-studded event at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto, including best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for Viggo Mortensen. The previously announced Cineplex Golden Reel Award winner Starbuck took home an additional two Genie Awards tonight.
