Food Network Canada's fall schedule has added three brand new series to its fall lineup beginning October 21st.
Elimination is the name of the game in two new, intense competition series this fall. In Restaurant Express, Chef Robert Irvine (Restaurant: Impossible) puts eight restaurateurs on a business skill-testing bus trip of a lifetime. The one contestant left on the bus at the end of the trip wins their own Las Vegas restaurant to run. In the second new series on Food Network this fall, Guy Fieri (Diners, Drive-ins and Dives), cult favourite cookbook author and restaurateur, takes the competition into the supermarket in Guy’s Grocery Games. Here, the chefs compete in cooking challenges to avoid being ‘bagged’ until one lucky winner gets the shopping spree of a lifetime.
Washing down all that competition is a brand new series that serves up the kind of drama that’s shaken, not stirred. Bars struggling to keep doors open are in for a reality check in On the Rocks, the brand new, dramatic series where Vancouver-based international bar expert John Green helps failing bars across America get back to business.

Four talented chefs compete in supermarket-themed cooking challenges as they must navigate their way through the aisles, adhering to everyday challenges of shopping on a budget, substituting out-of-stock ingredients, and cooking (and checking out) with five items or less. In the end, the food does the talking, as one-by-one the losing chefs are “bagged,” and the last chef standing goes on the shopping spree of a lifetime to make big bucks. Internationally celebrated cookbook author and restaurateur Guy Fieri hosts the series and a rotating list of guest judges includes Melissa d’Arabian, Richard Blais, Beau MacMillan, Jet Tila, and Marcela Valladolid, among others.

After opening his own consulting business and overseeing bar and club openings in seven countries, it’s safe to say that Vancouver-based John Green knows bars. But if John is coming to your bar it means you are ‘on the rocks’. Luckily for struggling bar owners, it’s John to the rescue. In each episode, John travels to bars around the country to help them keep their doors open and get business back to normal. He assesses the bar’s problems, confronts the owner and lets them know what needs to be fixed, whether it’s newly trained staff or a whole new design, John’s got the answers for what ails the bar.
