Broadcast Systems and Equipment, Inc. (BSE) has been selected by da Vinci Systems to distribute its line of image enhancement solutions in the provinces of Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes.

Founded in 1998 to provide hardware and software solutions to Canadian broadcasters, BSE has expanded its core business to include the post-production industry, which it will serve in large part with da Vinci products.

"What we've learned since turning our focus to include the post-production industry is that da Vinci products enjoy an excellent reputation, due to the unmatched quality and depth of their feature set," said Peter Bartlett, president of BSE. "We're honored to have been chosen by da Vinci to represent them in the provinces of Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes and are proud to be associated with the quality of their products."

BSE was created from what was originally Caveco Equipment Ltd., a company that served the Canadian broadcast industry for over 50 years. BSE is continuing its broadcast business as it expands to include the cable and telco industries as well as post-production. The head office of BSE is located in Toronto, with regional offices in Montreal, Cranbrook, Calgary, and Vancouver.

"BSE has post-production industry veterans that will be a tremendous asset in representing da Vinci products as we move color enhancement forward in film transfer and network server-based grading. BSE has based its reputation on providing excellent full-service sales and support to its clients, regardless of the industry," said da Vinci Vice President of Worldwide Sales Peter Glassberg. "That philosophy has served them -- and their clients -- very well, and we look forward to receiving the same level of dedication for our own products and clients."
