The Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced the appointment of Raj Shoan as a full-time member of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, designated for the Ontario region, for a five-year term.
"I am delighted that Mr. Shoan will be joining the CRTC," said Minister Moore. "His extensive knowledge of laws and regulations in the broadcasting and telecommunications industries, as well as his strong experience in the field, will be solid assets to the Commission."
A lawyer by trade, Mr. Shoan holds extensive experience in Canada's broadcasting sector. He has also served on the Board of Directors of FACTOR (Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings). Mr. Shoan holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of New Brunswick and a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science and History) from McGill University.
