CRTC Confirms Decision of Broadcast Arbitrator on Paid Election Time

  • The CRTC confirmed that on 21 October 2023, the Broadcasting Arbitrator released a decision and an order with respect to the 2023 Re-Allocation of Paid Time. This decision, made pursuant to section 340(1) of the Canada Elections Act (the Act), replaces the 2023 Allocation of Paid Time made on 13 July 2023.

    The Commission is required, pursuant to section 342(1) of the Act, to notify broadcasters and network operators of such allocations.

    Allocation of Broadcasting Time to Be Made Available by Every Broadcaster Under the Canada Elections Act for Purchase by Registered Parties and Newly Eligible Parties, as Determined by the Broadcasting Arbitrator under Subsection 340(1) of the Act
