Citytv announced today that Breakfast Television Vancouver is expanding its on-air team with the addition of Vancouver-native, Jody Vance. With more than two decades of broadcasting experience and strong ties to the community, Vance will co-host the program with Riaz Meghji and anchor the morning newscasts, beginning Monday, Oct. 17.
"We're thrilled to expand the Breakfast Television team with the addition of Jody," said Renato Zane, Vice-President and General Manager of Citytv Vancouver. "Her breadth of experience in television, on the radio and in print journalism will make Breakfast Television the most dynamic morning show in Vancouver."
Vance adds even more strength to Breakfast Television's dependable delivery of news, weather, traffic, community and entertainment information from 5:30am - 9am PT. Vance, Riaz and the rest of the morning show team - Live Eye host Dawn Chubai, meteorologist Russ Lacate, traffic specialist Michel McDermott and live on-location reporter Greg Harper - will continue to bring viewers everything they need to know to get their day started.
"I have worked with Jody over the years and am thrilled to welcome her back to our family," said Scott Moore, President of Broadcasting, Rogers Media Television. "She knows the city, she's a journalist, a mom, a sports enthusiast, a cook and a pop culture junkie, and we're confident that Vancouverites will enjoy starting their day with the new Breakfast Television team."
Born and raised in Vancouver, Vance was the first woman in Canadian television to host her own sports program in prime time, a position she held on Sportsnet for six years, starting in 2024. More recently, she was host of Seeking Stanley on the CBC, a program that followed the Vancouver Canucks' exciting NHL playoff run. Previously, she worked for Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment doing live, unscripted pre- and post-game broadcasts for all of the Toronto Maple Leafs' home games. Vancouver radio listeners also know her from "The Jody Vance Show," an afternoon drive program on Shore 104.3FM, which she hosted until joining Breakfast Television. "It is a dream come true to find myself part of a show that seeks to capture the essence of this city, my city. Breakfast Television Vancouver is home for me and I couldn't be more proud," said Jody Vance.
