Bell Media and Partners Take Home 56 Awards at Canadian Screen Awards

  • Bell Media congratulates its production partners, team members, and talent on another impressive showing at the Canadian Screen Awards. Honoured with 37 television wins overall, Bell Media once again demonstrates its continued commitment to creating and developing exceptional original Canadian content.

    Bell Media and its partners garnered three of the major television awards handed out at last night’s closing gala, including Best Dramatic Series, Best Dramatic Actress, and Best Dramatic Actor. Bell Media-supported film projects won 19 awards, including Best Motion Picture, Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role, and Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role.

    Space’s juggernaut sci-fi drama Orphan Black from Temple Street Productions secured seven wins over the course of Canadian Screen Week, including Best Performance by an Actress in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role for the third year in a row to Tatiana Maslany, Best Actor in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role to Ari Millen, and Best Writing in a Dramatic Series. Bravo’s hit drama19-2 from Sphère Média Plus and Echo Media received three wins, including Best Dramatic Series and Best Direction in a Dramatic Series.

    CTV’s The Amazing Race Canada from Insight Production Company Ltd. won Best Reality/Competition Program or Series for the second year in a row, while Best Host in a Variety, Lifestyle, Reality/Competition, or Talk Program or Series went to Jon Montgomery.

    The Amazing Race Canada also took home a Golden Screen Award for TV Reality Show, while Corner Gas: The Movie garnered a Golden Screen Award for TV Drama/Comedy. The Golden Screen Awards recognize the most-watched television programs in the 2024-15 broadcast year.

    CTV News received three awards, including Best National Newscast for CTV National News with Lisa LaFlamme and Best Local Newscast for CTV News Vancouver.

    TSN garnered a total of seven awards including Best Sports Feature Segment for the much talked about feature, “The Butterfly Child” and Best Live Sports Event for FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2024.

    Bell Media In-House Productions garnered four awards, including Best Talk Program or Series for The Marilyn Denis Show.

    Eight winning films supported by The Movie Network and The Harold Greenberg Fund/Le Fonds Harold Greenberg won 19 awards, including: Room, which took home nine awards including Best Motion Picture, Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role, and Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role; Hyena Road, which earned three wins; Brooklyn, which won two CSAs; the Bell Media Original Documentary, How To Change The World, which won for Best Editing in a Feature Length Documentary; as well Sleeping Giant; Remember; Beeba Boys; and Scratch: A Hop-opera
