Global News announced today that Antony Robart and Rosey Edeh have been named as hosts of Global Toronto’s new midday News at Noon. A mix of charm and personality coupled with extensive broadcasting experience, Robart and Edeh will provide Torontonians with all the news they need to stay informed throughout the day. The News at Noon launches Monday, August 27, and will air weekdays from 12-12:30pm ET.
“The News at Noon completes Global Toronto’s weekday news offering by allowing us to continuously report on and update stories, while supporting Global News’ overall vision of making news content available around the clock regardless of the platform,” says Ward Smith, News Director and Station Manager, Global Toronto. “Airing live out of our downtown 121 Bloor Street E. studio will allow Antony and Rosey to provide viewers all the information and context they need to get a snapshot of the stories worth knowing about.”
Buoyed by Robart and Edeh’s extensive reporting experience, the News at Noon will cover everything happening in the Greater Toronto Area, from breaking news to entertainment and feature stories, while allowing for a greater flow of information across all newscasts.
To develop this continuity, Edeh and Robart will contribute to other Global Toronto news programming, with Edeh joining The Morning Show team on Monday, August 27th, and Robart continuing to file breaking news stories for the News Hour at 5:30pm. The News at Noon will also feature lifestyle and entertainment items, as well as in-depth and contextual community-focused pieces of most importance to Torontonians.
