The NT Series of loudspeakers with Gunness Focusing represent a true breakthrough in powered loudspeaker design. NT loudspeakers are compact, self-powered, and extremely lightweight while providing the exceptionally high output required for professional use. More importantly, they are the first high-output loudspeakers to deliver studio monitor quality sound, in portable as well as permanent installations.

The NT Series are not conventional PA loudspeakers. They incorporate a revolutionary active DSP (digital signal processing) technology we call Gunness Focusing - after its inventor, David Gunness - EAW's Director of R&D.; In basic terms, Gunness Focusing corrects the sonic problems inherent in conventional compression driver phase plugs, horns, and LF driver technology. This, along with the highest quality internal amplification, affords sonic performance comparable to premium direct radiating studio monitors, but at much higher output levels.

All digital processing hardware and software necessary to implement Gunness Focusing was custom designed by Acuma Labs, Ltd, and the internal DSP is factory preset to provide correct and consistent performance. The NT’s integral electronics are based on proven, high efficiency amplifier technology, and feature field-replaceable amplifier modules for added convenience and minimal down time should an extremely rare amplifier failure occur.

    NT Models
The 2-way NT loudspeakers are available in both 12-inch and 15-inch LF driver formats. Different coverage patterns are offered to meet typical coverage requirements depending on intended applications. The trapezoidal design of the enclosures makes them easy to use as a main PA loudspeaker, or as a floor wedge for stage monitor applications.

The companion NT Subwoofer complements the NT full-range loudspeakers by extending low frequency response as well as increasing low frequency output capabilities. The drivers are installed in a “push-pull” configuration where one faces into the enclosure while the other faces outward. The drivers are connected with opposite polarity, so both cones move in the same direction. At high output levels, each cone "loads" the other in the opposite direction smoothing out any mechanical asymmetries. The result is significantly reduced distortion, even at ultra-high output levels.

    NT Amplification
To maximize performance, the full-range loudspeakers are bi-amplified, meaning the LF and HF drivers each have their own Gunness Focusing DSP and built-in, high-efficiency amplifier (1000 W LF and 500 W HF). The subwoofer is dual-amplified, meaning each driver has its own built-in, high efficiency amplifier (1000 W each).
