Broadening access to its expanding portfolio of Grass Valley™ brand equipment, Thomson, the world leader in integrated solutions (technologies, equipment and services) for the entertainment and media industries, today announced that AVI Systems, one of the largest U.S. system integrators and equipment dealers will now carry Grass Valley professional audio-visual (ProAV) equipment. The company will also install Grass Valley equipment as part of its system integration business.

The reseller agreement, which expands an existing pact between AVI and Thomson Broadcast & Media Solutions in the traditional broadcast market, supports Thomson’s initiative to bring to ProAV facilities such as corporate board rooms, educational production facilities, government training studios, and independent production companies a full line of cost-effective Grass Valley digital production equipment.

The total available market for ProAV products is more than 13€ billion according to company estimates.

The Grass Valley ProAV products to be represented and marketed by AVI Systems include the M-Series™ intelligent video digital recorder (iVDR); KayakDD™ production switcher; PVTV™ integrated production systems; CameraMan® 3-CCD Robotic Camera System; Acappella™ (16x4) and Concerto™ Series (64X64) routing switchers; WebSTATION video streaming system, and a full range of Gecko™ and Kameleon™ modular products.

“As a systems integrator, adding the Grass Valley product line broadens our access to the world-class products for which Thomson is known, and gives us the ability to offer a more robust solution to our clients,” said Jeff Stoebner, vice president, sales and marketing, AVI Systems. “We see a steady demand for Grass Valley technology across the country and are happy to be able to offer this comprehensive product line as an authorized reseller.”

“Thomson is pleased to announce the addition of AVI Systems to our dealer channel network in the U.S., which will substantially increase our presence among professional A/V companies and in-house corporate video departments that want to produce high-quality events in the most cost-effective way,” said Marc Valentin, president of Thomson Broadcast & Media Solutions. “We value our relationships with dealers around the world and this agreement with AVI Systems is one of the first to target the ProAV marketplace specifically. We are looking forward to a long and profitable partnership with them.”
