Joel Reitman, President, CEO and Michael Goldberg, Executive Vice President, COO of MIJO Corporation (“MIJO”) are pleased to announce the purchase of the business of StanCon Video Inc. (“StanCon”).

Founded in 1983, StanCon was the first company in Toronto to offer a multi-directional digital video standards conversions service (from/to: NTSC, PAL, and SECAM). Following StanCon’s establishment as a quality conversion facility, it broadened its scope by adding the benchmark Snell & Wilcox Alchemist Ph.C converter. Thereafter, StanCon diversified its product line to include Closed Captioning for the hearing impaired, as well as DVD Authoring and Interactive Media Services.

“Under the MIJO banner, there will be significant benefits for StanCon’s clientele. They will now have access to a wider array of service capabilities”, says Reitman. “We are confident that MIJO will carry out its mandate to these customers by being a one-stop shop. With enhanced Ph.C conversion technology/equipment already on order, the effective consolidation of StanCon and MIJO will substantially broaden our visibility within the standards conversions arena in Canada, as well as internationally”.

James Murday (nine years with StanCon) has been named Account Supervisor. He will be accompanied by other colleagues who will continue at StanCon under the new ownership. StanCon Video will operate as a division of MIJO Corporation and will be based out of MIJO’s offices at 635 Queen Street East. The telephone number, facsimile number, and email addresses will remain the same. A link to StanCon’s web site (www.stanconvideo.com) will also be accessible via www.mijo.ca.

MIJO Corporation offers a network of services to the advertising and motion picture industries. Divisions include: MIJO Comprehensive, mijo Print Technologies, Rocket Digital Post & Sound, slingspot.com, Undercover Film & Electronic Media Storage, The Clearing House/ Broadcast Clearance Advisory, and Artistat Pre-Media.
