Leitch Technology Corporation today announced the
immediate availability of its third-generation low-resolution browse and
edit solution, NewsFlash Preditor(tm). Based on the NEXIO(tm) server
platform, NewsFlash Preditor features a common user interface between high
and low-resolution editing environments, providing users with unprecedented
collaborative and performance capabilities.
"NewsFlash Preditor takes desktop editing to a new level of flexibility and
power," said Tim Slate, Leitch's director of product management, video
servers. "Featuring unparalleled integration with NEXIO, this feature rich,
inherently reliable browse/edit solution allows users to work together with
ease and do more at the desktop than any competing product available today."

NewsFlash Preditor incorporates NEXIO server technology for encoding
and client access to the low-resolution file system and features a fully
configurable user interface based on the completely redesigned NewsFlash
editing environment. With NewsFlash Preditor, users can make cuts-only edits
and build timelines using low-resolution proxy clips. The system's powerful,
new toolkit also allows users to perform a wide range of audio edits,
including audio level adjustment, track swapping, and recording of
voiceovers. Completed projects can then be passed back to the NEXIO server
system to be converted into new, high-resolution, broadcast-ready clips.
