The new Mackie Onyx 1220, 1620 and 1640 premium analog mixers incorporate the latest advances in hallmark Mackie technologies like extremely low-noise microphone preamps and circuitry, tremendous durability, plenty of direct instrument inputs. Onyx mixers also feature a modern front panel and include a FireWire option for integration into any computer-based system.

These mixers include Mackie’s new Onyx mic preamps, which meet or surpass expensive esoteric standalone mic preamps in terms of fidelity and transparency. Then, there’s Mackie’s completely new Perkins EQ circuitry: a “neo classic” 3- and 4-band design which gives you the sweet musicality of British EQ with greater filter control and minimum phase shift (plus a true hardware EQ bypass). And all this analog innovation is rounded out by a new Aux section w/ individual Pre/Post control, plus a new Talkback section with built-in mic for easy studio communication.

Onyx mixers offer balanced direct outputs on every channel via dual DB-25 connectors (a first for any small-format analog mixer). An optional FireWire I/O card is available, it lets you stream either 12 or 16 independent channels of 24-bit/96k audio, plus a stereo mix, directly to your Mac or PC. You can also monitor a stereo mix via FireWire from your computer, making our Onyx Series mixers superb audio interfaces to your digital world... or any other world you plan to rule.

The Onyx 1220 is a 12-channel (4 mic/line inputs and eight line inputs) mixer with 2 buses and a three-band Perkins EQ with swept midrange. The Onyx 1620 is a
16-channel (8 mic/line inputs and four stereo line inputs) mixer with 2 buses and a four-band Perkins EQ with dual swept midrange. The Onyx 1640 is a 16-channel (16 mono mic/line inputs) mixer with 6 buses (4 subgroups plus L-R) and a four-band Perkins EQ with dual swept midrange. Like Mackie’s popular 1604-VLZ Pro, the Onyx 1640 also includes a rotating I/O pod that can be easily configured for rack or desktop use, keeping the unsightly collection of cables hidden.
