Rohde & Schwarz chosen to supply Digital Television Transmitters & Combiner System to CBC/Radio-CanadaJuly 12, 2022by -- Rohde & Schwarz Canada Rohde & Schwarz Canada Inc. Ottawa, Canada, announced today that they have been chosen by the CBC/Radio-Canada to supply and install ATSC transmitters & a high-power television channel combining system at the CN Tower in Toronto in a turn-key solution.Rohde & Schwarz will be partnering with Dielectric, a US manufacturer of combiners & RF systems for this project. Rohde & Schwarz will provide two, state of the art, solid-state ATSC transmitters incorporating a number of innovations developed by Rohde & Schwarz. These two new ATSC transmitters� signals will be combined with one CBC/Radio-Canada (40KW Transmitter Rohde & Schwarz) analog signal and one analog signal from TV Ontario (Ontario's provincial public broadcaster), into a common output feeding an existing broadband antenna. The combiner is designed to allow for additional channels in the future. Rohde & Schwarz is strengthening its� growing base of systems in the North American market and strategic relation with key broadcasters like CBC. CBC/Radio-Canada is an early adopter in implementing digital television broadcasting in Canada.
