Stephen Pumple, President & CEO, AZCAR Technologies Incorporated, announced that Fiji TV has awarded AZCAR a contract for the design, equipment procurement, and systems integration of their new satellite-based program delivery service with technical facilities in Suva, Fiji. This contract has been awarded on the heels of an earlier feasibility study that led to the project now being implemented. This new project includes studio facility upgrades, a new uplink, conditional access system, set-top boxes and related hardware. The system is scheduled to be in service in by the summer of 2024.

AZCAR has tapped the resources of its subsidiary Megahertz in the UK to provide the consolidation and integration of the system, which is being pre-built and shipped to Fiji for installation. The operation will bring a new level of television services to the Fiji islands, some of which will have access, for the first time, to live local programming.

“We are very pleased to be working with Fiji TV on this new project and look forward to our continuing association with them and their developing broadcast and media plans. This project also demonstrates AZCAR’s diverse and distributed resources, skills, creativity and capability to assist broadcasters of all types to meet their goals,” said Stephen F. Pumple, President and CEO of AZCAR.

“We have been impressed with the work, talents and practical solutions that AZCAR has demonstrated in previous projects and we are pleased that they are working with us on this important initiative. AZCAR responded quickly and effectively to our business and financial objectives while developing the functional requirements of this unique operation,” commented Ken Clark, CEO of Fiji TV. “We look forward to maintaining the relationship with them as we grow,” he added.
