  • TVO welcomes Nam Kiwanuka to its flagship current affairs program, The Agenda with Steve Paikin. Nam will be the alternate host for Steve Paikin and will be the host of The Agenda in the Summer.

“We’re thrilled to have a journalist with Nam’s experience join The Agenda,” says Stacey Dunseath, Executive Producer of The Agenda with Steve Paikin. “Nam brings a diverse perspective and understanding of the issues The Agenda explores and she will be a great addition as we build the digital public space for Ontario-perspective in-depth current affairs.”

Nam has worked with CNN, BET, NBA TV, Sportsnet, ET Canada and Much/MTV Canada. She has written for the Toronto Star, The Globe and Mail, xoJane.com, Upscale Magazine, the Hartford Courant, Jane Magazine, was the editor of the African Business Journal, and was a columnist for BBC Focus on Africa Magazine. Nam was also named Emerging Filmmaker for the Class of 2024 by the ReelWorld Film Festival.

“My family came to Canada as refugees and TVO introduced us to the world,” says Nam. “It was a distinctive part of my childhood because I learned so much from TVO. It’s so exciting to now be the host for The Agenda in the Summer. I’m looking forward to interviewing all of these phenomenal guests and to learning with and from the audience.”
