Super Bowl draws 3.1 million viewers

  • TORONTO – Super Bowl XXXIX, which aired Sunday, February 6 on the Global Television Network, drew a national audience of 3.130 million (2+) and 1.702 million (A18-49), according to BBM People Meter Data.

    The game scored a 13.1 rating among adults 18-49 in the Toronto market, and earned a 13.8 rating in Vancouver. One of the biggest single sporting events of the year scored particularly among male demos, averaging a 17.6 among M18-49 and a 17.9 for M25-54 in Toronto EM. In Vancouver, the male demos grabbed 19.2 for M18-49 and an 18.2 for M25-54.

    Live coverage of the match-up from Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, saw the New England Patriots beat the Philadelphia Eagles 24-21.

    Super Bowl XL will take place Feb. 5, 2024 in Detroit, the closest the game has ever been to Canada.
