Showcase announces a bold slate of new and returning dramas for its 2024 Spring schedule. The channel’s upcoming schedule features the series premieres of two gripping new titles, The Path from Friday Night Lights’ Jason Katims on March 31, and Hunters from The Walking Dead’s Gale Anne Hurd on April 11. Also joining the lineup are the second season premieres of the network’s #1 series* Outlander on April 10 and the suspenseful sci-fi series 12 Monkeys on April 18.
Starring Emmy Award winner Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Michelle Monaghan (True Detective), and Hugh Dancy (Hannibal), The Path is produced by Emmy Award winner Jason Katims, and written by Jessica Goldberg. This provocative new series follows a family at the center of a controversial cult movement as they struggle with relationships, faith, and power. Each episode takes an in-depth look at the gravitational pull of belief and what it means to choose between the life someone lives and the life they want. The series perfectly blends elements of mystery-thriller, romance, and mysticism. The Path airs Wednesdays beginning March 31.
Season 2 of Showcase’s most-watched series Outlander begins as Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) arrive in France, hell-bent on infiltrating the Jacobite rebellion and stopping the battle of Culloden. Jamie and Claire are thrown into the lavish world of French society, where intrigue and parties are abundant, but political gain proves far less fruitful. Altering the course of history presents challenges that begin to weigh on the very fabric of their relationship. However, armed with the knowledge of what lies ahead, Claire and Jamie must race to prevent a doomed Highland uprising, and the extinction of Scottish life as they know it. Adapted from Diana Gabaldon’s international best-selling books, the critically acclaimed series stars Golden Globe Award nominee Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, and Golden Globe Award nominee Tobias Menzies, with Ronald D. Moore serving as executive producer/showrunner. Season 2 of the Golden Globe Award-nominated series Outlander premieres Sunday, April 10. The first season is currently available on shomi.
The gritty sci-fi thriller Hunters lands on Showcase on Monday, April 11. When FBI agent Flynn Carroll’s (Nathan Phillips, Wolf Creek) wife goes missing, his search leads him to a highly classified government organization – the Exo-Terrorism Unit (ETU) – who track and fight alien terrorists. The series also stars Britne Oldford (American Horror Story) as Regan, a valuable ETU operative keeping secrets of her own, and Julian McMahon (Nip/Tuck) as the dangerously unhinged terrorist McCarthy. From executive producers Gale Anne Hurd, Natalie Chaidez, and Emile Levisetti, the series is inspired by best-selling author Whitley Strieber’s novel, Alien Hunter. The premiere of Hunters airs immediately following the season one finale of The Magicians.
Also returning for Season 2 this spring is 12 Monkeys, which travels through time to premiere Monday, April 18. The filmed-in-Toronto series follows the journey of Cole, a time traveler sent back in time from a dark, hellish future to prevent it from ever happening. Joining forces in the present with Dr. Railly, Cole must defeat a centuries-old malevolent organization known as the Army of the 12 Monkeys. As Cole, Railly and their unlikely allies get closer to the truth, they’ll learn there are deadly consequences for all of history…and time itself. Aaron Stanford, Amanda Schull, Kirk Acevedo, Emily Hampshire, Barbara Sukowa and Todd Stashwick reprise their roles for the sophomore season. Viewers can watch the first season action on shomi.
Showcase’s dramatic offerings continue this Summer with the return of Golden Globe Award-winning series Mr. Robot in its hotly anticipated second season. Scheduling details will be announced at a later date.
