RTDNA Canada will recognize a long-standing member of the association with the Distinguished Service Award. This award honours a member who has played a major role in the continuing success of RTDNA Canada. It is presented in recognition and appreciation of outstanding contribution and exemplary distinguished service rendered for the benefit and advancement of electronic journalism and RTDNA Canada.
Andy LeBlanc is an active and dedicated member of RTDNA and has served as President, Treasurer and regional director. “During a time when our association was facing severe economic challenges, Andy’s leadership not only helped RTDNA Canada stay afloat, but he provided an opportunity for growth and renewal,” said RTDNA Canada President Ian Koenigsfest. “Any association would be extremely lucky having someone of the caliber of Andy either at the helm or on the board. In his quiet but steady demeanor, Andy has and continues to make an extremely valuable contribution to RTDNA.”
Andy’s television industry experience spans more than thirty years, with ten of those years working on-air as a news reporter and the rest in a variety of management roles. Andy is currently the News Director with CTV Atlantic. He took a brief hiatus from the industry and worked as a television journalism instructor at New Brunswick Community College.
Andy’s entrepreneurial experience includes creating and running successful small businesses including an online community news network which offers hosting to communities and journalism schools in Canada.
Andy will be presented with the Distinguished Service Award during the RTDNA President’s Award Gala in Toronto, June 14th, 2024.
