A new radio station is rocking the Halifax market. Launched Friday, the current adult contemporary station LITE 92.9 will change its format to the new 92.9 JACK FM, a broad-based, mainstream music station that will play a large library of popular songs from more than a dozen styles of music spanning four decades.
With four established sister stations in cities across the country including Vancouver and Calgary – the successful JACK Rogers Radio brand plays contemporary hits such as Maroon 5, Adele, and P!NK mixed with classics favourites including Queen, The Rolling Stones, and AC/DC.
“Appealing to a wide cross-section of audiences, JACK is the perfect fit for the diverse Halifax radio market,” said Danny Kingsbury, Vice President and General Manager, Rogers Radio, Capital Region, Atlantic, and Kingston.“While many stations get trapped playing only one type of music, JACK listeners will be able to hear everything from Bruno Mars and Katy Perry to Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Queen, and two-hit wonders like Tone Loc – answering our audiences’ desires for a greater variety and choice of content.”
The eclectic mix of music on 92.9 JACK FM will keep listeners entertained and so will JACK’s new morning show team. Beginning Monday, March 3 at 6 a.m. AT, listeners can tune in to the new show Griff & Caroline in The Morning, with veteran hosts Griff Henderson and Caroline Parker. No strangers to the Halifax radio scene, with more than 30 years of combined radio experience, Henderson and Parker have been entertaining Haligonians on the radio for more than a decade.
