  • Hundreds of Canadian actors along with members

from other unions set up an information picket at the office of Canada’s producers’ association today calling on the producers to come to an agreement with ACTRA.

Performers were picketing in support of their settlement package which includes a proposal to put internet issues to a committee. ACTRA is also
looking for a rate increase that will keep performers from falling further behind SAG members they work together with on sets; and for the producers’ associations to end their ongoing legal challenges.

Ken Neumann, National Director of the United Steelworkers, along with Steelworker supporters attended the picket and pledged the continued support of the one-million-strong international union in the actors’ struggle. The United Steelworkers have a strategic alliance with ACTRA.
