OAB Confirms Steve Jones As Speaker and Panelist at Connection 2024

  • The Ontario Association of Broadcasters is pleased to announce Steve Jones, author of Brand Like a Rock Star and Vice President of Programming, Newcap Radio, will address delegates at CONNECTION 2024. The OAB fall conference, CONNECTION 2024 will be held on Thursday, November 7th at the Marriott Toronto Airport, 901 Dixon Road.

    Steve Jones oversees the content and branding of over 80 radio stations across Canada as Newcap Radio’s VP/Programming, including HOT 89-9 and LiVE 88-5 in Ottawa. As a radio programmer and manager, Steve has worked in nearly every format and market size in Canada, the US, and the Caribbean. Steve is currently based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

    Aside from his career in radio, Steve is also the author of the business book Brand Like A Rock Star: Lessons From Rock ‘n’ Roll to Make Your Business Rich and Famous. His book takes you beyond the hype to reveal the core marketing strategies behind the success of the world’s greatest bands. Steve Jones has earned his street cred as a savvy marketer in an outrageous business. He combines insider stories from AC/DC, The Beatles, The Grateful Dead, Kiss, and many other legendary bands with sound business advice, to deliver a rockin’ guide to building a breakthrough brand.     During the Digital Panel, Steve and panelists will look at the future of broadcast and how traditional media and digital will work together. Steve will encourage panelists to discuss how to improve a station’s online presence to increase tuning/ratings; provide examples of successful/proven promotional ideas; and creating and managing station content, staff and brand.
