EMI Music and Stingray Digital have signed a content agreement that will give Stingray Digital access to EMI Music’s library of music and concert videos. This content will appear across the range of Stingray’s products on a worldwide basis, on Digital Cable, IPTV, mobile, web and TV-Everywhere platforms.
“We continue to grow our music products on a worldwide scale across new platforms, and we are actively pursuing global deals that will facilitate the deployment of these services”, stated Eric Boyko, President and CEO of Stingray Digital. “This innovative deal with EMI Music will secure our access to the best music available on a global as well as on a local scale,” Boyko concluded.
“We are always looking to find ways for our artists to connect with their existing fans, and to allow a new and broader fanbase to enjoy their music. With its broad distribution of linear audio services in North America and Europe and their Video On Demand music services, Stingray has an important role to play in that goal,” comments Pat Shah, EMI Music North America’s Vice President, Digital Business Development.
The EMI library includes thousands of music videos and concerts from artists such as Katy Perry, Coldplay, David Guetta, Norah Jones, Lady Antebellum and Keith Urban. Stingray will also be able to offer local content from artists in specific countries across Europe where their services are available. The agreement includes worldwide rights, and is for all platforms including TV and VOD.
