Corus Lights Up Disney Junior and Disney XD

  • Corus Entertainment today marks the launch of Disney Junior and Disney XD in over eight million households across Canada. Disney Junior and Disney XD will be widely available through distribution partners in English Canada. 

    To kick off the launch of Disney Junior, tonight, the epic storytelling of Disney’s The Lion King continues with the primetime television movie event, The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar. Then on Saturday, December 5, the fairy-tale inspired animated series Goldie & Bear, based on the renowned porridge incident of “Goldilocks and The Three Bears” will debut with two back-to-back episodes. For the month of December, Disney Junior presents “Magical Holidays” featuring festive premieres and new episodes of Doc McStuffins, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Miles from Tomorrowland, Sheriff Callie’s Wild West, Sofia the First and more.

    The celebration begins on Disney XD this week with marathons and brand new episodes of Star Wars Rebels. Starting tonight, back-to-back episodes will lead into a brand new episode “Wings of the Master“. Fans will have a chance to catch up on the complete Star Wars Rebels series with marathons of Season 1 and Season 2. on Saturday, December 5. New episodes from Season 2 will premiere (“Blood Sisters”) (“Stealth Strike”). Disney XD will offer more outrageously fun and awesome new adventures this holiday season with seasonal premiere episodes of Kirby Buckets, Pickle and Peanut and more.

    In anticipation of the network’s launch, Disney XD is offering fans the opportunity to join the Galactic Empire with the ultimate Stormtrooper Helmet Design contest. Fans are encouraged to submit their designs for a slew of intergalactic prizes.   

    Disney Junior and Disney XD are available through the following distribution partners: Bell Fibe TV, Bell Satellite TV, Bell FibreOp TV, MTS, Rogers, Shaw, Shaw Direct, TELUS and various CCSA members. Cogeco Cable Canada & Eastlink launch December 2, while SaskTel customers will have access to the new services in the coming weeks, in time for the holidays.
