  • Toronto, – Renowned media pioneer, Allan Waters, Chairman and President of CHUM Limited, will be inducted into The Canadian

Music Industry Hall of Fame in a special ceremony at the Canadian Music Industry Awards on February 28th, 2024 at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto. Waters will be celebrated for lifetime achievement in the Canadian Music & Broadcast Industries.

“Mr. Waters’ life’s work has affected virtually every aspect of the Canadian entertainment and broadcasting industries. He’s a widely respected businessman, and a noted trailblazer in his field,” said Neil Dixon, Canadian Music Week President.

In spite of an often low-key approach to the limelight, Waters’ journey has been nothing but large scale. A blossoming career in advertising was interrupted by service in the RCAF from 1942-46. Trained as a Wireless Radar Mechanic, he was posted to active duty in England and Belgium. Again, fate played its hand, as Waters’ 1954 purchase of legendary CHUM Radio in Toronto saw the birth of a Canadian broadcasting empire that has touched the lives of millions.

Allan Waters is Chairman and President of CHUM Limited. One of Canada’s leading media companies and content providers, CHUM Ltd. owns and operates 28 radio stations, eight local television stations and 17 specialty television channels. CHUM’s original television content is seen in over 100 countries worldwide and on new media platforms including interactive television, wireless and exclusive CHUM branded Internet properties.
