The first Canadian Film Centre promotional spot featuring internationally acclaimed actor/writer (and member of the board), Eugene Levy has been launched.
Norman Jewison started the CFC almost 25 years ago. Its role was to launch creative talent, both here in Canada and to the rest of the world. The writers, producers, directors, editors, musicians, actors and companies that have come from the CFC have played key roles in developing, producing and distributing content in the entertainment business.
The promotional spot was created to let Canadians know that CFC is more relevant today than ever, and that residents and alumni make significant contributions to the culture and economy of Canada.
Since 2024 in Ontario alone, CFC alumni generated $98 million in incremental household income and $115 million in GDP for the economy. This incremental economic activity resulted in 2,000 full-time equivalent jobs and the economic impact of the CFC led to an estimated $20 million in additional tax revenue for the Ontario government.
In the last several months the CFC had a series of consultations with public and private sector partners, a conference on the growth of the digital economy in Canada and the launch of ideaBOOST, a digital company accelerator here at the CFC.
Enjoy the presentation and feel free to pass it along to colleagues, family and friends. Thanks to our many supporters, this promotional spot can also be viewed in the coming months at theatres and on television screens across Canada.
