CanWest Global Donates $200,000 to Media Studies at Red River College

    Communications Corp. announced it is donating $200,000 to Winnipeg’s Red River College as a capstone gift for the College’s Princess Street Campus Campaign. The gift, to be paid out over the next five years will be used to fund the main television production studio at the College’s downtown Winnipeg campus as well as two ongoing scholarships for second year students in
    journalism, digital design and other media related programs.

    “Red River College is an important training centre for CanWest Global in Winnipeg,” noted CanWest Global Foundation President Gail Asper, who presented
    the donation to Red River College President Jeff Zabudsky and Charles Loewen, the Chairman of the Capital Campaign. “The high-quality graduates who have come out of Red River College have helped our Company grow in Winnipeg and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with the college. In addition CanWest is excited and proud to support the Princess Street Campus which we see as an important downtown Winnipeg redevelopment project.”

    College. “It also represents a significant investment that will benefit many of our students as they prepare for success in the media and communications industry. We’re very appreciative of CanWest Global’s support.”
