Banff Festival Unveils Opening Keynote Speaker

  • The Banff World Media Festival is proud to announce that Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, will kick off BANFF with a Keynote Address. Minister Joly will address the delegates on Sunday, June 12th.

    Now in its 37th year, BANFF is recognized globally as a business market for executives working in the content industry.  Its focus is the development, production, distribution and monetization of screen-based content, and it is the preeminent event where Canadians can gain access to buyers and thought leaders from around the world in order to move projects forward.

    “I am pleased to be taking part in my first Banff World Media Festival as Minister of Canadian Heritage,” said the Honourable MélanieJoly. “I am eager to share my vision for the future of Canadian arts and culture with industry leaders. It will be a time for productive discussions about the new realities of Canada’s content industry.”

    The Banff World Media Festival will run from June 12th to 15th at the Fairmont Springs in Banff and will bring together over 2,000 buyers and content creators from around the world.
