Corus Radio is now delivering HERE Radio HD Traffic, the first in-vehicle, real time HD Radio traffic service in Canada. Currently operating solely through Corus HD Radio stations, the service, developed by HERE, a leader in mapping and location technology, in partnership with the Broadcaster Traffic Consortium, allows drivers and passengers with enabled devices and automobiles to receive local traffic and road updates on their vehicle’s navigation display screen when tuned into Corus’ HD Radio channels.

Listeners with access to HD Radio technology can tune into the digital signal of Corus Radio’s Talk Radio AM640 (CFMJ AM) in Toronto and AM900 CHML (CHML AM), found under Hamilton’s 95.3 Fresh Radio (CING FM) on channel’s HD2 (AM640) and HD3 (AM900). Also available is Calgary’s News Talk AM770 (CHQR AM) under sister station, Country 105.1’s (CKRY FM) HD2 channel and Vancouver’s News Talk 980 (CKNW AM), under Rock 101’s (CFMI FM) HD2 channel.

“Corus Radio was the first in market with HD Radio in Canada and is now the first and only Canadian broadcaster to deliver in-vehicle HD traffic services,” says Mario Cecchini, Executive Vice President, President, Corus Radio and Corus Média. “We are always innovating the listener experience and continue to build on the great radio we offer through enhanced services.”

Honda is currently the only brand to offer the service, in certain 2024 and 2024 models, with additional manufacturers expected to roll out with the feature later this year.
