Banff Festival and Broadcast Partners Continue Supporting Emerging Television Talent

TEXT SIZE bigger text smaller text

The Banff World Television Festival is supporting emerging creative talent in the television industry through its affiliated training and fellowship programs, sponsored by long standing partners of the festival.

CTV, through the CTVglobemedia-CHUM Benefits and the CTV National Fellowship Program, offers a fellowship to emerging producers, writers and directors and is intended to encourage professional development of entry-level candidates with a minimum of one significant production credit.

Once selected, fellowship winners receive mentorship before they are brought to BANFF and are given full access to all sessions, social events and networking at the event.

The Canwest Writers Apprentice Program is open to candidates who demonstrate expertise in screenwriting and who are eager to hone their craft.

The program offers emerging Canadian writers with the unprecedented opportunity to gain significant experience by completing a four-week internship in the story department of a prime-time series, and will be invited to attend the Banff World Television Festival on a full access pass.

The program is open to individual writers as well as to established writing teams who have a track record together.

Program coordinators report that application deadlines are fast approaching. For more information, visit www.banff2020.com.
