ctv.ca To Stream Live Feed of 2024 Giller Prize

The best of Canadian literature will be delivered to the world via broadband when CTV streams a live broadcast feed of The 2024 Scotiabank Giller Prize on its Broadband Network at ctv.ca.

It's being called the first time a broadcaster in Canada will deliver a Canadian network awards program live on broadband. The Giller Prize TV broadcast is the only major literary award prize ceremony in the world to be produced for primetime and broadcast on network television.

CTV is making the Prize broadcast available without geo-filters so that Can Lit fans from around the world can watch from anywhere. The gala ceremony will stream live, and then on-demand anytime following the broadcast. Additional Giller content can also be found on the broadband player, including exclusive video footage surrounding this year's Giller Prize as well as extended interviews with the short-listed authors, presenters and jury.

"Special thanks to Ivan Fecan and Susanne Boyce for their inspired leadership and outstanding contribution to Canadian literature," said Giller
Prize founder Jack Rabinovitch, in a release. "Their efforts to ensure a prime time network television slot for a literary prize, introducing Canadian writers to the largest possible audience nation wide and around the world on broadband, is absolutely unprecedented and heroic."

"Canadian authors are recognized internationally," said Susanne Boyce, CTV's President of Programming and Chair of the CTV Media Group. "We are honoured
to share this evening of celebration with the world."
