BELFAST, N.I. - CanWest Global Communications is bidding for a new FM radio station license in the Northern Ireland city of Belfast, reports one of the city's newspapers.
According to today's Belfast Telegraph CanWest, the launch partner and part-owner of TV3 Ireland - and once the largest shareholder of Ulster TV (CWG sold its shares in UTV this year), is in the running for the new radio station, which will broadcast to the greater Belfast area on 105.1 FM, with a potential listener base of 750,000.
The proposed name for the station is Live 105, says the Telegraph.
