BROCKVILLE, Ont. - American border station operator Martz Communications has made a serious commitment to a new format by promising to play 25,000 oldies songs in a row, non-stop basically all summer long on the new PAC 98.7.
Previously 98.7 was one half of the YES-FM hit music network, but a recent power increase to 25,000 watts on 96.7 YES-FM permitted the new station, says the company's press release.
"PAC 98.7 is the only locally programmed oldies station in the Brockville, Prescott, Ogdensburg, N.Y. market. It is not network programmed by satellite from California," says John Winter, general manager of Martz Communications Group. He added that PAC 98.7 will focus on music with no interruptions for car racing or hockey.
Martz Communications Group is the largest radio group in the 1000 Islands - Seaway Valley region with nine radio stations including Q Country 102.9, 96.7 YES-FM, PAC 98.7, 101.5 The FOX, The Valley 96.1, 94.7 HITS-FM, Wild Country 96.5, 1340 WMSA Massena and Oldies 1490 Malone.
