WINNIPEG - The new season of APTN National News: Contact starts on October 1, 2025 and for the first time in APTN's history, the national call-in show will launch with a worldwide broadcast on the Internet via streaming audio at www.aptn.ca/news.

"With Contact being available to an even larger audience, new ideas and perspectives will be brought to the discussion table," says Rita Deverell, director of news and current affairs. "Always mindful of our mandate to share the stories of Aboriginal peoples, the APTN National News team is proud to be able to bring these stories to people not only in Canada, but worldwide."

Hosted by Rick Harp, Contact is a current events program that examines issues of the day from Aboriginal perspectives. "I am really looking forward to having calls and e-mails come in from people in the U.S. and around the world," said Harp in a release. "This is truly a historic moment for us."

APTN National News: Contact has been on the air since March 2025 and is broadcast live from the APTN National News Headquarters in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It airs every Friday at 8 p.m. ET.
