OTTAWA - The CRTC today approved transitional digital television licenses (basically, HD licenses) for Toronto multicultural broadcasters OMNI.1 and OMNI.2.

"The applicant proposed that the station simulcast the current analog programming service of CFMT-TV, with the exception of up to 14 hours per week of programming that would not be duplicated on the analog service. The digital undertaking would operate from the First Canadian Place on channel 64VL1 with an effective radiated power (ERP) of 15,000 watts," the Commission decision recounts from the application of the Rogers Media-owned stations.

Broadcaster Poll
When it comes to the three subscription radio applications to be heard by the CRTC November (see this site for stories explaining it), should the Commission:
Approve all three?
Approve the CHUM "Canadian" option?
Approve one or both of the satellite options?
Approve none?
