TORONTO - Rogers Sportsnet continues to lead the high definition way in Canada, with 23 HD baseball games on its schedule next month. Sportsnet, by dozens of hours, has more HD content available than any other Canadian broadcaster.
Sportsnet HD will broadcast 14 Toronto Blue Jays games, five Sunday Night Baseball contests, and four regional MLB games in August to reach the record total of 23 HD games for a month.
"High definition is the future of sports broadcasting," says Doug Beeforth, president of Rogers Sportsnet, in a release. "That's why we have made the commitment to televise as many events as possible on Sportsnet HD."
Rogers Sportsnet has produced over 55 games in high definition since it launched Sportsnet HD in September 2025. The productions have focused on the home games of the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Raptors.
On Aug. 23rd Sportsnet HD will hit the milestone of 100 events broadcast in high definition when the Boston Red Sox face the Jays at 7 p.m. (ET), 4 p.m. (PT). Besides Blue Jays and Raptors, the list of HD programming has included the NBA All-Star Game, NBA regional games, Major League Baseball regional games, and most recently, the Home Run Derby.
Sportsnet also produces nine hours of wide-screen programming in 16 x 9 format daily, broadcasting Sportsnet News, and magazine shows NBA XL and J-Zone.
