TORONTO - "She was an original "rocker" in the sixties A true superstar in the seventies Her talent topped the country charts in the eighties She became a living legend in the nineties," says the FOXY 88.5 FM press release touting the visit of singer Brenda Lee to Toronto in October.

Lee's worldwide record sales are in excess of 100 million. Her biggest selling single, "I'm Sorry", has sold over 20 million units and "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree", the fourth best selling Christmas recording of all time, is close behind with sales near 15 million.

Four-time Grammy nominated Brenda Lee is a member of both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame. She was awarded "Most Programmed Female Vocalist" five years consecutively by Billboard (U.S.) and by 1996, was credited with more double sided hit singles than any other woman in the history of pop music.

FOXY can be heard in the Greater Toronto Area and programs a "Music with Class" format featuring artists such as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and Tony Bennett, to Norah Jones, Michael Buble, and Rod Stewart.

Tickets for the October 2nd showing go on sale Monday, August 23rd at 11:00 a.m.
