TORONTO - The Global Television Network and Rogers Cable announced today that Global's innovative show Train 48 is now available in Toronto via video on demand.

Rogers will offer season two of Train 48 free to its VOD subscribers, allowing access to current episodes the day after they air.

"We are very excited about offering Train 48 to viewers via Rogers video on demand. This is the first time in Canada conventional primetime programming will be carried on VOD," said Doug Hoover, Global's senior vice-president of programming and promotions.

The majority of Rogers digital cable customers in Central Toronto can access VOD.

Train 48 is a half-hour "instant drama" that blends news and current affairs, soap opera and audience interaction with the unfolding storylines of a group of train travellers as they commute home from work. Produced in association with Protocol Entertainment, Train 48 is filmed entirely in Global's Toronto studio. Each episode is scripted, shot, edited and broadcast daily, with the actors improvising most of the dialogue.

Train 48 allows viewers, via www.train48.com, to vote on issues or characters, suggest storylines and contribute topics for discussion.

Train 48 airs weeknights nationally on the Global Television Network.
