TSN welcomes the next generation of NHL stars to the big leagues with live Prime-Time coverage of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft on Friday, June 26, beginning at 7 p.m. ET (encore at 10 p.m. ET on TSN2) and continuing through the completion of the first round. TSN’s exclusive live coverage of the Draft will be simulcast throughout North America – on NHL Network in Canada and VERSUS in the U.S. – and will be available on-demand at TSN.ca.
The NHL Entry Draft returns to its original home in Montreal for the first time since 1992. James Duthie will host TSN’s coverage directly from the Draft stage at the Bell Centre, interviewing GMs and players following their selections. He will be joined by TSN’s Draft Panel of Bob McKenzie, Pierre McGuire and Gord Miller. The team of draft experts will tee up Draft prospects and deliver instant analysis.
Hockey Insider Darren Dreger goes in deep from the Draft floor, and for the first time, will be on Twitter giving hockey fans a unique, behind-the-scenes look at the all of excitement surrounding the 2009 NHL ENTRY Draft. Dreger will be with the GMs and NHL executives reporting on all of the discussions and potential player moves. Reporter Ryan Rishaug will be conducting interviews with players and family members from the stands.
Kicking off TSN’s extensive Draft week coverage is Bob McKenzie’s NHL Draft Ranking: 2024 on Monday, June 22 at 7 p.m. ET (encore at 10 p.m. ET on TSN2). During the special, Hockey Insider and draft expert Bob McKenzie will reveal the Top 30 prospects available in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. McKenzie will be joined in the TSN studio by NHL ON TSN host James Duthie.

TSN’s popular NHL on TSN 2024 Mock Draft SPECIAL will return on Tuesday, June 23 at 7 p.m. ET (encore at 10 p.m. ET on TSN2). Hosted by Duthie, the 30-minute special features Pierre McGuire and former NHL general manager Craig Button projecting who will be the first 30 picks in the Draft.
SportsCentre has extensive coverage of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft with daily reports from Brent Wallace along with features on the needs of each of the Canadian teams and in-depth looks at top prospects John Tavares, Victor Hedman and Matt Duchene.
