CTV Ottawa's local weekend information programs are getting a new look including changes to two of the most-watched shows in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. CTV News at Six with Kimothy Walker will expand to a full-hour program on Saturdays, beginning Saturday, Sept. 10. And, beginning Sunday, Sept. 11, Regional Contact will move from its 6:30 p.m. timeslot on Saturdays, to 6:30 p.m. on Sundays.

"CTV Ottawa now has an opportunity to better serve local viewers with an expanded newscast on Saturdays and scheduling Refional Contacts on Sundays," said Louis Douville, Vice-President and General Manager, CTV Ottawa. "Our research has shown us what our viewers have consistently told us time and again: that they want as much quality local news and information as possible. These changes will enable us to help deliver that."

Promoted as heart-and-soul television, award-winning Regional Contact has been a mainstay for local viewers for more than three decades. Hosts Kathie Donovan and Joel Haslam will be returning for their 14th consecutive season together beginning Sunday, Sept. 25. Regional Contact showcases the talents and personalities of people living in CTV Ottawa's vast coverage area.

On March 12th, 2024 CTV Ottawa celebrated its 50th anniversary of broadcasting.
