Beginning tonight at 11 p.m., CityNews Tonight will extend its half-hour newscast to one hour. Available on Citytv, CityNews Channel, and online at CityNews.ca, the expanded broadcast will keep Torontonians on the pulse of news that matters most with more comprehensive coverage of local, national, and international news. Anchored by Roger Petersen, the new one-hour CityNews Tonight broadcast will rely on its notable personalities to deliver more of the day’s top stories and breaking news, bringing viewers ‘A day in the life of Toronto’ every weeknight – including weather reports from seasoned Meteorologist Adam Stiles and sports from Gemini Award-nominated Sports Anchor Kathryn Humphreys.
“With breaking news occurring throughout the day, there is a demand from viewers for more information from a trusted news team,” said John Hinnen, Vice-President of Television and Radio News, Rogers Media. “By extending our newscast by thirty minutes, Torontonians can end their nights with a broadened look at the day’s top news stories and feel prepared for the day to come.”
