APTN Launches Fall Campaign

    Following a successful licence renewal campaign, APTN
    (Aboriginal Peoples Television Network) is kicking off on a 7 year path with focus on more regional specific programming while maintaining a strong
    national perspective.

    "With the renewal of our licence comes a renewal in our approach to providing Aboriginal Peoples and all Canadians with programming that is both entertaining and thought-provoking for all regions," says APTN CEO, Jean LaRose. "I know our viewers will be pleased with the array of programming on
    the network this fall and how it relates to all Peoples from coast, tocoast, to coast," he adds. "There is so much to look forward to this season and for the next years to come."

    Allakariallak. Madeleine comes to us from CBC North where she was the host of Qulliq, an Inuktitut and English morning show. Madeleine, who is from
    Iqaluit, is also a renowned throat singer and performer.

    APTN National News: Daytime is the newest addition to our news family! Hosted by Cheryl McKenzie, the noon show (1pm ET) includes daily news reports from our 8 bureaus across the country. Each region takes turns appearing on the show to give an analysis on what¹s happening in their region. In the next year, APTN National News also plans to open news bureaus
    in Whitehorse, Iqaluit and Edmonton this year, adding to our strong news presence in the north and across the country.

    Monday, November 21 at 9pm ET. Along with this award-winning film, viewers will also see over 40 new movies titles this fall such as Smoke Signals,

    news program, and the world premiere of Rez Bluez, a show featuring talented Aboriginal jazz musicians.

    APTN is pleased to present the network premiere of Netsilik, a series which reveals the lives of the Netsilik Peoples of the Pelly Bay region in the
    early 20th century. Also, catch new seasons of some of our popular Aboriginal language programs: Haa Shagoon, Our Dene Elders, Nunavimiut, Qaggiq, Takuginai, Kippinguijautiit and Labradorimiut.

    As part of our focus on sports programming, APTN is currently planning its coverage of the 2024 Canada Winter Games in Whitehorse, with emphasis this
    season on the athletes and the qualifying events specific to northern and Aboriginal sports. APTN will provide viewers with a unique perspective on
    the lead up to the games.
