Academy of Country Music Awards Returns to Global

    Global brings Country Music’s Party of the Year back to Canada as the 51st Academy of Country Music Awards premieres Sunday, April 3 on Global. The boot stompin’ soiree continues Monday, April 4  with an encore presentation of the ACM Awards on CMT (Canada). Hosting this year’s event is reigning ACM Awards Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan and megastar Dierks Bentley who will honour some of country music’s best and brightest stars, and hottest emerging talent, straight from Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena.

    Lighting up the stage with blockbuster performances are co-hosts Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley as well as country superstar Keith Urban, multi-Grammy Award winner Carrie Underwood, music duo Florida Georgia Line, newcomer Cam, country music veteran Kenny Chesney and chart-topper Tim McGraw debuting his new single “Humble and Kind.” Also scheduled to perform are Kelsea Ballerini, Eric Church, Sam Hunt and more.

    Nominations for country music’s cream of the crop have been announced, with singer-songwriter Chris Stapleton leading the pack with seven nods, followed by country rocker Eric Church and newcomer Cam with six nominations each. Additional nominees include Little Big Town up for five awards, Chris Janson, Miranda Lambert and Thomas Rhett each up for three, and Zac Brown Band nominated for Vocal Group of the Year.   

    The 51st Academy of Country Music Awards is produced by dick clark productions. Allen Shapiro, Mike Mahan, R.A. Clark, Barry Adelman and Mark Bracco are executive producers. Bob Romeo is executive producer for the Academy of Country Music.
